The information we collect:

This policy applies to all information which we have or obtain regarding your file in our office, including any information which you may submit on, and which we collect from, the Buckles & Buckles, P.L.C. website. That information may include your personal information such as your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.  And, if you make a payment on our website, the information may also include your banking information, e.g. account number, routing number and bank, and any other information you may provide via the website.

How we collect the information:

Buckles & Buckles PLC collects information only via our website or payment portal, and only after you complete the online form and press the “submit” button.

Buckles & Buckles PLC does NOT engage in the collection of personally identifiable information about your online activities over time or across third-party web sites or online services. No other party is able to conduct online tracking of your information on our website.

How we use your information:

We use your personal information to locate and update your file.  If you are making a payment via our website, we provide your banking information to your bank, credit union or credit card company for payment processing. Payment and banking information collected is securely stored and is not provided to any third party except your financial institution and Regal Technologies, Inc. (see below).  Note, that information may not be available to you for modification on the website once you submit it.  However, you may contact us via our website, e mail or toll free at 866-729-6411 to update your banking information.

Buckles & Buckles, P.L.C. will never sell or provide your personal information to any third party, except we may provide your personal information to the third parties below, but only to the extent necessary to service your file in the ordinary course of business:

  • The original creditor.
  • Process server as needed to serve a summons a complaint.
  • Hearing counsel if suit has been filed and a court hearing is scheduled.
  • Our ACH payment processing and credit card merchant account vendor.

No other party is collecting your personally identifiable information or banking information while you are on our website.

Online form submissions create an email that is sent directly to a manager of Buckles & Buckles, PLC.  We use the e-mail address provided to answer an e-mail we receive. We do not use your e-mail address for any other purpose, unless you have given us express authority to communicate with you via e-mail. We do not share your e-mail address with any outside parties.Employees and vendors that receive your information we have obtained are required to use your information for the purpose it was shared and are forbidden from sharing it with others except to fulfill that limited purpose.

You may make your payment on this website. You also have the option to contact our office and speak to one of our Legal Assistants who will assist you to make a payment directly to our office. You may telephone our office toll free at 866 729 6411 and ask to speak to one of our legal assistants or our collection manager, Mrs. Cogswell.

Security:

Information that you provide Buckles & Buckles, PLC is securely stored. All of your communications are transmitted via SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encrypted forms which ensure that the information cannot be intercepted while in transit. Credit card and debit card payments made are transmitted via SSL as well and the numbers are deleted automatically after payment and NOT stored in our database.

Compliance:

Buckles & Buckles, PLC collects, uses and discloses information in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Employee Education:

Buckles & Buckles, PLC trains and educates all employees regarding information practices and the proper handling and use of information obtained.

In the madness of the recession and a divorce I had a credit card go into default. When the court papers came, i went in to court. Buckles had sent a young attorney, someone hired case by case. So, first caveat is go to court when you are served. The judge was looking to be fair. I had sent in my financial info, and we worked out a payment plan, no interest. My impression was that they represented the card company, not that they were collecting based on having bought the debt. At any rate, I have been ok with this, and on a few rare occasions have accidentally sent a payment late, but have been able to talk to the paralegal there and they did not push back into litigation. This may depend on whether or not it is likely for them to benefit from legal action. I'm pretty much dead broke LOL.
